It’s that time of year! Kill, kill, kill blood makes the
grass grow green! Deer season is upon us. I don’t get to hunt much anymore, but
many of my friends and family do. The great part is I get to benefit from it. I
usually get a couple of loins and some burger from them. The secret to cooking
deer is fat or oil. Remember there is no fat in deer meat. It is very lean. I
have heard people mixing beef or pork with deer, but I have found if you add a
little butter or even oil, you can make a juicy piece of venison and get that
wonderful taste!
